Michael Appleton feels there is more to come from his Imps side after starting the season with a battling point at Gillingham.
Tayo Edun’s early goal got the Imps off the mark with a draw at a notoriously tough place to go.
Appleton said: “It’d have been nice to get off to a win, but we all know hoe difficult this place is and we stood strong for a well deserved point.
“There is much more to come, we just missed the right cross or shot at the end and over time that will come.”
The Imps boss was pleased with the way his side improved as the game progressed.
He added: “I thought in the second half we were much more ourselves, we took our time to build into it. The way we passed the ball was much better in the second half and we created chances.
“We stayed resolute when we had to in the first period, and the lads coming off the bench gave us something too.”
