The Imps were delighted to be shortlisted for two awards at this year’s Lincolnshire Live Business Awards.
The first nomination was the Business in the Face of Adversity Special Award, which is given to those who have gone the extra mile under pressure during the global pandemic which has thrown a multitude of roadblocks in the way. Other shortlisted businesses were Micronclean and St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospital, with the latter deservedly winning the award.
City’s success story on the evening was when Tom Bullivant picked up the Ellgia Apprentice of the Year Award. This was given to an apprentice who had shown outstanding progress and commitment to their personal development over the past 12 months.
Tom initially joined the club in 2017 as a volunteer before becoming a Media Apprentice, where he studied Digital Marketing at Lincoln College one day a week. Following his completion of the course, Tom was appointed Media and Marketing Assistant in September 2020.
He now plays an important role in the Communications Department as the football club continues to grow from strength to strength. Tasks include video editing, graphic design for all departments and assistance on the day to day running of social media channels.
Head of Communications, Jake Longworth expressed his praise saying: “Tom has been a breath of fresh air ever since he initially joined the club and it's really pleasing to see his hard work rewarded.
“We were thrilled to bring him in as an apprentice and he has grown in the job and as a person. He should be really proud of the work he's produced, and this is a great example of how the apprentice scheme can work.”
The Imps will be opening up more opportunities to follow in Tom’s footsteps at the football club in due course. Please keep an eye out on our social media channels and website if you’re interested.
