Michael Appleton has described Lincoln's Sky Bet League One game against Charlton as an important fixture.
The Imps boss has just two days to turn his side around following midweek cup action against Liverpool. Michael is looking forward to having a free week after the weekend but insists Sunday's game is massive for the Imps.
"I'll be at a game on Saturday but we can look to next week knowing that after Sunday we have a free week," said Appleton.
"Having the week free will give the lads a nice break, but we have a massive game first against Charlton, it is ten times bigger than yesterday's game. Three points on Sunday will be our target and it is important to do that."
The City manager continued by speaking highly of Charlton Athletic and Lee Bowyer: "It will be a tough and difficult test.
"Lee has done a great job there, they have good talented players and will be disappointed with their last result.
"They've had a free week which will help them, they will want to make sure they have lots of energy in the first half and hope we haven't got that to match them after a midweek fixture."
Michael finished by looking at his own side, explaining how he is excited with the way the Imps have played football in their opening fixtures.
"We will look after our players, we will hopefully show the same sort of energy in Sunday's game to what we showed against Liverpool."
"I don't think they play with as much possession as the previous two sides we have faced in the league.
"It is one of them where I want us to play the type of football that gets everyone off their seat, possession isn't always key, but will see what happens on Sunday."
