Jorge Grant picked up another assist this evening as he setup Lewis Montsma's second half header as the Imps faced Liverpool in Carabao Cup action.
Jorge praised the opponents before speaking about how the Imps played this evening: "Their finishing in the first half was clinical, but we gave a good account of ourselves, especially in the second half by creating chances.
"That wasn't their strongest side but they are all top players, most of the lads in their side are internationals. It was tough and you can tell by the way they move and pass the ball about they are a good team.
"We have been working on some stuff at the training ground which came out on the pitch tonight. We will take the positives out of it."
The Imps midfielder went on to speak about what Michael Appleton said to the team at half-time: "He told us to work hard and stay together in the second half.
"He wanted us to go score some goals and enjoy ourselves, I think we went out there and did that. We wanted to prove we are a good side who can score goals no matter who we are playing.
"It was an enjoyable experience."
With the Imps returning to Sky Bet League One football on Sunday, Grant discussed the mindset going into this weekend's game: "We will now look to Sunday, the league is a massive focus for us and we enjoyed ourselves tonight.
"We expressed ourselves and took in the experience. It isn't nice to conceede seven goals but we aren't too down about it."
