We are delighted to announce a partnership with ASE (Academy of Sports & Education) to create a Performance Academy in the South East of the country as a further recruitment tool for players aged 16-19 years old.
The Club’s desire to develop our Academy is well documented and the recent launch of our Academy Emerging Talent Programme is a long-term commitment to improving the level of players within our schoolboy age groups, with the aim of more “home-grown” scholars in the future.
In the meantime, strategic partnerships of this kind are crucial as the Club continues to throw the net across the whole country in order to recruit the most talented 16-19 year olds of the required level into our scholarship programme. Senior Academy staff from Lincoln City will keep in regular contact with the Lincoln City Performance Academy, who are setting up and operating the programme, and all their coaches to monitor the progress of each player. There will also be regular visits from LCFC Academy staff to watch training and fixtures, meet the players and discuss their individual development as well as the opportunity for high performing players being invited to train with LCFC Scholars.
LCFC Academy Manager, Jordan McCann, commented “The ethos of ASE is to provide opportunities for aspiring youngsters, in this case through football, to achieve their potential in sport and education. For that reason, which is aligned to our philosophy, and the additional players this will allow us to monitor in the south of England, means that we are really excited with the potential benefits of this partnership. We look forward to working with ASE and the team of coaches from next season and beyond.”
ASE Academy Manager, Jamie Strong, added “This is a fantastic agreement and we are delighted to be working with Lincoln City Football Club. This innovative partnership will give our students a genuine opportunity to develop a potential a career in football both on and off the pitch. The Lincoln City Performance Academy provides a second chance for aspiring footballers to earn a scholarship or professional contract with LCFC and we are convinced that we can give young prospects a chance to forge a fantastic career in sport but to also keep them on the right track, in what are challenging times for young people across the country. We can’t wait to get started’’.
