Lincoln City Football Club are delighted to announce the launch of a new International Football Programme, in partnership with Lincoln Minster School.
This unique partnership gives talented young footballers across the world the chance to benefit from the professional coaching of Lincoln City, whilst accessing the highest quality education in Years 10-13 at Lincoln Minster School.
The first students will join the programme this September and will have a bespoke football training programme integrated into their GCSE or A-Level academic timetable.
Head of Football, Jez George, who has worked closely with Lincoln Minster School from the inception of this joint venture, said: “This programme is perfect for students of all nationalities who wish to pursue their education in a British independent school setting whilst accessing the highest level of football coaching. Our aim is not to discover a potential professional footballer but, instead, to provide an experience that benefits every participant. Therefore, our focus is on ensuring that the football components of the programme are always complementary to the student’s academic achievements."
"This programme strengthens still further our fantastic relationship with Lincoln Minster School, which is so crucial for our long-term strategy of developing home-grown players through our scholarship scheme. We look forward to welcoming the first students next season.”
Headmaster of Lincoln Minster School, Mark Wallace, echoed Jez’s sentiments, commenting: “We are delighted to launch this new programme in partnership with Lincoln City, and excited by the opportunities it will provide for international students attending the school to advance their football development alongside academic studies."
"This programme, a further extension of our wonderful partnership with the football club, underlines our shared values; we are focused on the growth of each individual and believe that, both in the classroom and the football pitch, we can cultivate the characteristics that will enable each student to be successful.”
