The Imps have progressed to the semi-finals of the Lincolnshire Senior Cup following a 2-1 victory over Lincoln United at the Sun Hat Villas & Resorts Stadium on Tuesday night.
A young Imps side, featuring eight 16-year-olds in the starting line-up, took the lead early in the first half as new Academy forward Nathan Odokonyero picked up on a loose back pass to slot under home goalkeeper Mike Emery.
The hosts levelled on the stroke of half-time through Kallum Smith, before Ryan Flitton secured the victory for the young Imps with a speculative effort midway through the second half.
The Imps will face either Cleethorpes Town or Spalding United in the semi-final of the Lincolnshire Senior Cup, and Lead PDP coach Tom Shaw was proud of his side's effort against another senior side.
"It was really tough going at times," he said. "We’ve had four games now against men’s teams, it’s been tough going, really physical and very competitive.
"They’ve learned some really valuable lessons along the way, and shown a fearless side too, while also sticking to task and method, so I’m really proud of what they’ve done over the last 10 days or so.
"It really was men against boys, but the lads did the club proud against a side that played in the first team game at the beginning of pre-season."
