Harry Anderson was delighted that City got back to winning ways this afternoon in the 2-0 win over Burton Albion. The Imps’ number 26 scored the opening goal in the win over the Brewers at the Pirelli Stadium before setting up the second for Tyler Walker in the final minute.
But more importantly, Anderson was pleased for the whole team who worked so hard to pick up the three points.
“All round it was a fantastic performance,” Harry said.
“It’s hard coming to places like this and you have to dig in as a team to get on the right side of the result. They had a fair bit of possession but we kept a good shape which was why they didn’t have too many chances on goal.”
The goal which broke the deadlock early in the game was Harry’s second league goal of the season so far and also his second headed goal of the campaign in a move which the 22-year-old alluded was a planned set piece move ahead of kick off.
“Yeah, it was one we’ve been working on and it’s nice when it comes off. It just needed a little glance and thankfully it went into the goal.”
Anderson in typical modest fashion extolled the virtues of the team ethic within the group before admitting that getting out back on the pitch was something everyone has been so keen to do before kick-off this weekend, but once the final whistle went all attentions have now turned to a return to action on home turf against Tranmere Rovers next Saturday.
“It was fantastic to get an assist and two goals on the day. But everyone was fantastic today, we all dug in and stayed right with it. At one-nil up so early in the game you can quite easily concede. We made sure stayed in the game before then scoring the goal to win the game.
“We need games now, we were chomping at the bit to play and we made sure we started well from the beginning and now hopefully we can take that into next week and get three points there as well.”
