This weekend the Keith Alexander Memorial Tournament kicks off as Lincoln City host the prestigious youth tournament which is now in its eighth year.
Teams of youngsters from across the country have taken part in the competiton since it's inaugural year in 2011, the competition then hosted over 150 players in two age groups and has since grown to feature over 450 players across six age groups. Teams from Norwich City, Sheffield Wednesday, Nottingham Forest and many other Football League clubs have all taken part in the tournament in the tournament named in honour of the former Imps’ manager.
This weekend’s event is once again being sponsored by Dixon Street Carpets, who have a long association with the tournament and Lincoln City Head of Enterprise, Damian Froggatt is delighted that the competition is again being sponsored by the local flooring firm:

This weekend The Young Imps take to the field with teams from Hull City, Doncaster Rovers, Grimsby Town, Peterborough United, Rochdale and Mansfield Town as well as some local junior clubs and the action gets underway at 10am on Saturday 24th August.
The tournament continues on Sunday from 10am and you can catch the action at Ruston Sports and Social Club on Newark Road.
