The nominations for the September PFA Bristol Street Motors League Two Player of the Month Awards have been announced and two of the City squad have made the cut.

Jason Shackell and Tom Pett are amongst the nominees for the monthly gong in League Two after some sterling performances as well as being on the scoresheet for The Imps in a month where the pair were ever present in the starting eleven across the whole of the month.

Both players netted in the 2-1 win over Macclesfield Town in mid September and then Shackell followed that up with a last gasp winner in the win against MK Dons at Sincil Bank a week later.

Pett has been an influential figure in the heart of the midfield and has rightly picked up plaudits from supporters as well as picking up positive comments from interested onlookers, whilst Shackell's experience in defence and cool head has proved to be a valuable asset to The Imps.

The other nominees for the award are Sam Surridge and George Edmundson of Oldham Athletic, Colchester United's Luke Norris, and Byron Moore from Bury.
