Lead Professional Development Phase Coach for the Lincoln City Youth Academy Nick Green will be departing the club at the weekend, as he is set to emigrate to Australia.
Nick arrived at the club in the summer of 2017, following the Imps' return to the EFL and has played a huge role in the reformation and rise of the Lincoln City Youth Academy.
We, as a football club, would like to put a massive thank you on record to a fantastic coach and person, and would like to wish Nick all the very best in the future.
Management, players and staff had nothing but praise for Nick, as he said his farewells this morning prior to the Youth Academy's final game against Bradford City on Saturday.
Danny Cowley said: "We're obviously disappointed to see him leave, but we wish him and his family well in what is a fantastic adventure in moving to Australia.
"Nick has been absolutely brilliant, he may have only been here a year, but he's made a huge difference to our Academy. Day in, day out he's worked tirelessly hard to create a good environment and experience for our scholars.
"I know that having worked closely with them myself, I know the benefits that they have had from Nick's hard work and his expertise.
"We'll be really sad to see him go, and there's always a place for him here at Lincoln City."
Academy Manager Damian Froggatt appointed Nick in 2017, and had nothing but kind words to say about his colleague.
“His contribution to the academy in what has been a year of challenges and change has been significant, he has embedded himself into the culture of the club and truly calls himself an Imp.
"Everyone at Lincoln City wishes Nick and his family the very best as they move on to a new and exciting chapter in life.”
Danny Horton, a second year scholar, who's development under Nick has seen him be involved with the first team on a number of occasions, was full of praise for his coach.
"When Nick came in at the start of the season he brought a real energy to the group which had a positive effect on all of us. Personally, he has helped me progress a lot this year in different areas of my game and given me confidence going into next season. Nick has been one of the best of coaches I’ve worked with in my ten years at the club and I wish him all the best for the future.”
