Lincoln City are pleased to announce the arrival of former professional footballer Tom Shaw as Lead PDP Coach for the Lincoln City Youth Academy at Sincil Bank.
Tom heads to Sincil Bank following the departure of Nick Green at the end of season.
Shaw boasts a wealth of footballing experience, having come through the ranks at Nottingham Forest and Rushden & Diamonds, as well as reprsenting England as a 'C' international.
The 31-year-old, who has holds a UEFA 'A' License Qualification, has been on the coaching scene since 2015, as he worked as the Academy Lead Coach for Sky Bet Championship side Derby County.
During this period, Shaw has also been Player-Assistant Manager at Chester, where he scored 12 goals in over 100 appearances, won Player of the Year award in the 2016/17 season, and also spent time as Caretaker Manager.
Since September 2017, Shaw has been operating as Head of Football at Nottingham Trent University, where he oversaw five men's football teams, four women's football teams and seven futsal teams.
Academy Manager Damian Froggatt said: "We are delighted with Tom's appointment, he was a standout candidate for us. He brings with us a wealth of playing and coaching experience.
Shaw has over 300 professional appearances to his name, scoring over 50 goals from midfield, and he can't wait to get started with the young Imps.
"The job is a really exciting opportunity for myself and I feel like I am joining a club that are on the up," he said.
"I can see that there are some really good people at the club and I'm looking forward to getting cracking properly next week.
"I followed the club closely, I don't live too far away and have played against them on a number of occasions."
