New Imps signing Harry Toffolo says his move to Sincil Bank was a "no-brainer" following the announcement of his arrival today.
The 22-year-old put pen to paper on a two-year deal with the Imps, as he became the second summer signing following Bruno Andrade's arrival.
"The manager spoke to me about what he wants from me, given me advice on what he would like me to improve on and what he wants me to keep doing, so it seemed a no brainer for me to do it," Toffolo said.
"This is an opportunity for me to play football, it’s not going to be given to me as I’m going to have to work hard to get my chance but I want to show the Lincoln fans and the manager what I’m capable of."
Toffolo progressed through the ranks at Norwich City, and spent time on loan at Swindon Town, Rotherham United, Peterborough United, Scunthorpe United and Doncaster Rovers on loan - all of which were Sky Bet League One or Championship sides at the time.
But, the former England Youth International can't wait to get started with the Imps as a permanent signing.
"I now believe signing for Lincoln City I can concentrate fully on my club and not have to worry about what’s happening at another club," he said.
"The focus is on Lincoln City and personally you don’t know how much I’m relishing this opportunity, to have a manager that wants me to get better and a football club that wants to develop me is so refreshing and I want to be a part of it."
The Imps had the second highest average home attendance in Sky Bet League Two, with an away following in the top 20 in the entire EFL, and the level of support was a key factor for the former Norwich City youngster.
"It’s a club where the momentum is going in right direction," he added.
"I’ve seen it before in football teams (going in the right direction) and the crowds that were at the games in League Two last year were phenomenal last season and things will only get better as things progress and I firmly believe they will."
Toffolo's has spent the majority of the last four seasons out on loan, but has made near on 100 appearances for EFL clubs in that time.
"I had international players like Martin Olsen and Robbie Brady in front of me for a few years at Norwich, which didn’t really pave the way for me and stalled my development a little so to get that opportunity to go out on loan gained me experience which was fantastic," the left-back added.
He was also quick to emphasise his role of the pitch too, and fans can expect to see someone who buys into the community spirit at Lincoln City.
"The fans can expect me to be very approachable off the pitch, I'll happily chat to fans whenever, and on the pitch I will always give my all," Toffolo said.
"Winning 3-0 or losing 3-0 I’ll always give 100%, that’s the minimum requirement that any fan would expect."
