It is with regret that we are announcing the passing of former City winger Alan Withers, who has passed away aged 87.
Born in 1930 in Nottinghamshire, Alan joined the Imps in 1955 from Blackpool, before leaving in 1958 for Notts County.
During his time at Sincil Bank, the "outside left" made 98 appearances scoring 16 goals including a goal in the 2-0 win over Liverpool in 1956.
