Shrewsbury Town winger James Caton has joined the Club on loan until the end of the season.
Widnes-born Caton is a product of the Bolton Wanderers' youth set up and turned professional there in 2010 but was released two years later having failed to break through into their first team.
The former England U16 international subsequently signed for Blackpool and after loan spells with Accrington Stanley and Chester he joined Shrewsbury Town in the summer of 2014.
Having only been on the fringes of the first team squad, he went on loan to Southport in January 2015 and just before the start of the current campaign he spent a month with Mansfield Town.
He had further experience of National League football this season with Wrexham, appearing four times for the Welsh outfit prior to Christmas, and joins the Imps following a successful week on trial.
The 22-year-old has been handed the number 28 squad shirt.
