Lincoln City's first year apprentices began studying their Level 2 Award in Coaching Football this week with a visit to a local school.
Under the guidance of PFA tutors Brian Borrows and Chris Fairclough, the boys began their coaching certificate by working with Year 7 pupils at North Kesteven School in Lincoln.
Head of PE at North Kesteven, Gary Walters, said the pupils really enjoyed working with Lincoln City's scholars and Academy Manager Damian Froggatt believes the scholars benefit from the experience too.
"It's not only about the boys learning about the coaching process, but also about developing their social and communication skills, often outside their comfort zone," he said.
"They are role models in the community whenever they wear the club crest and its fantastic to see them developing their personal skills in this way."
The Level 2 Coaching Award forms part of the education framework provided by the League Football Education which forms the core of the scholarship programme alongside their football development.
