Liverpudlian Sean Newton has become the first new signing of the summer with the left-back penning a two-year contract.
Newton, who played for Stockport County last season having joined the Hatters initially on loan from AFC Telford United in March 2012, began his career with Chester City and having had loan spells at Southport and Droylsden, he had a brief spell at Barrow before joining Telford in 2009.
Noted for his ability from set-pieces, the 24-year-old went on to make over 100 appearances for Telford and one of his five league goals for Stockport last season was a second half free-kick in their 2-0 win over the Imps in February.
His contract with City will run until May 2015.
