Former Sheffield Wednesday trainee Todd Jordan has today joined the Club on a non-contract basis.
Jordan (21), who can operate either at the centre of defence or in midfield, was recently with Shirebrook Town having previously turned out for Worsbrough Bridge Athletic, Staveley Miners Welfare and Parkgate FC.
Known to Gary Simpson when the City boss was helping out at Parkgate at the beginning of the season, Sheffield-born Jordan will go straight into the squad for tonight's Blue Square Bet Premier trip to Macclesfield Town.
"Todd is a player I've been keeping an eye on for some time and whilst it could well be a gamble bringing him in, he has joined us on little money so it's a gamble well worth taking," said Simpson.
"He can play in a number of positions and has a good left foot, which is always a bonus. This is a chance for him to step up a level and stake a claim."
The six-footer has taken the number 4 squad shirt, made available following Gary Mills' departure from the Club earlier this week.
