Fan To Go The Distance For Future Imps Fund
When Supporters' Trust Board member Duncan Bayes heard that the Club's Youth Academy was seeking help from supporters to raise the funds needed to keep the Academy going he knew a way he could help.
Duncan has been running 10Ks for some time and had already decided to step up to half marathons by entering the Robin Hood race held in Nottingham in September.
To help both the Youth Academy Future Imps Fund and also the Rainforest Children's Ward at Lincoln County Hospital Duncan decided he would seek sponsorship for running the Robin Hood Half Marathon and share the amount pledged between the two organisations.
"I had been thinking of doing a sponsored run for some time," said Duncan.
"When I read that the Youth Academy had launched the Future Imps Fund I decided it was something I could do to help."
Commenting on Duncan's offer of help, Youth Director Roger Bates said: "We have had a number of fans offering to help in different ways and Duncan was the first of those. I am very grateful to him for stepping forward and hope that he will be successful in raising a large sum for both the Youth Academy and the Rainforest Ward."
