We're pleased to announce that today's game against Forest Green Rovers is scheduled to go ahead as planned.
Ground staff, with fantastic assistance from a number of volunteers, have spent the morning clearing the pitch and covers of snow and ice and with the surface underneath nice and soft, referee Charles Breakspear - who also helped out with the clearing up duties - more than happy with the situation.
Work will continue around the ground to ensure public safety but with the sun shining and a thaw setting in, we could for once be assisted by the weather conditions rather than hindered.
Everyone at the Club, especially groundsman Phil Kime and his assistant Paul Ash, would like to thank those who have lent a hand, not only today but during the course of the week. Today's Blue Square Bet Premier fixture would not have been possible without your help and is appreciated by all.
"A big thank you must go to everybody who has come down and got their hands cold clearing the pitch of snow in a bid to get today’s game on," said manager David Holdsworth.
"Those of you who have come along and helped Phil and Paul have worked tirelessly and it has been been wonderful to see the camaraderie out there as the snow was cleared away."
