The Club recently received this letter from Ralf Leibfried, which he has asked us to publish online.
My friend Steve Rowland, a Lincoln City supporter since childhood, introduced me to Sincil Bank Stadium two years ago during my visit to Lincoln and gave me a Lincoln City shirt signed by the players.
Since then he has started telling me the results from the Imps’ games and I can share happiness or sadness with him when Lincoln City play.
Our recent visit to Lincoln in September 2012 enable us to attend the home game versus Nuneaton, and Steve invited me and my wife to watch the game with him in the VIP area.
We were happy to see a 2-1 win after being 1-0 down within three minutes of the first half and, judging by the sore throat I had the next day, I think I might have cheered the Imps’ goals just a bit too loud.
Apart from the happy experience of watching a 2-1 win we were delighted with the warm welcome we received from the Club’s officials as well as from fellow supporters.
After the game we were welcomed as special guests from Munich and presented with a framed photo of us that was taken during half-time. We proudly put this photo on the wall in our flat as soon as we got back from England; it will always remind us of the wonderful evening we spent at Sincil Bank.
My wife and I would like to thank the Club and all the people we met for all the attention and friendliness we received that made the game unforgettable for us.
Born in Lincoln’s twin town Neustadt (though now living in Munich) I will always hear or read news from LCFC with great interest and hope the Imps will see successful times to come.
