Jake Sheridan has officially been credited with the first goal in Tuesday night's 3-0 home win over Braintree Town.
The Imps' fourth minute opener was initially given as an own goal by Alan Massey after the Braintree defender deflected Sheridan's shot past his 'keeper but having studied the match DVD it is clear that Sheridan's strike from outside the box was on target and as such a request was made to the Press Association to credit him with the goal.
This has since been confirmed with the strike being Sheridan's first league goal of the campaign and his second in all competitions following his effort at FC Halifax Town in the FA Cup with Budweiser Fourth Qualifying Round Replay.
