Hot on the heels of the opening day success over Kidderminster Harriers, the Imps hit the road tonight with a trip to Cambridge United the first away game on the 2012/13 agenda.
Jamie Taylor's first half effort was enough to see off the Harriers at The 12th Imp Sincil Bank Stadium on Saturday and the striker will be looking to continue his rich vein of form in front of goal, having bagged in each of his last four Blue Square Bet Premier outings.
With no fresh injury worries to contend with, manager David Holdsworth is unlikely to tinker with his squad for the trip to Cambridgeshire, and with Peter Bore ruled out again with a groin strain, recent non-contract signing Luke Daley is expected to retain his place on the right having impressed during his debut outing at the weekend.
Cambridge, meanwhile, go into the game on the back of a 1-1 draw at Forest Green Rovers on Saturday, although it took a late penalty from the hosts to rob Jez George's side of a maximum haul.
Amongst the United substitutes at the weekend was striker Sam Smith, who recently left the Imps for the U's for an undisclosed fee. He will no doubt be looking for a longer run out than the 20 minutes or so he had against Forest Green where he replaced goalscorer Tom Elliott.
Kick-off at the R Costings Abbey Stadium is 7.45pm with Rob Whitton the match referee.
