Sam Tillen was pleased with the attacking threat that his side posed as the young Imps beat Huddersfield Town U18 6-1 on Friday afternoon.
Goals from Carter Ford, Zane Okoro, Bola Okewoye, Kelly Fombad, Denny Oliver and Dakara Wifa sealed a brilliant victory for City.
Tillen said: “What was particularly pleasing was that we had six different scorers, which shows we carry an offensive threat right across the pitch.”
Tillen also praised the performances of Nathan Beckett, Jack Higgins and Will Cowin who made the transition from the shadow scholars to the academy seamlessly.
He added: “There were plenty of positives, we scored some good goals and put in some great performances.
“I was particularly delighted with Nathan Beckett, Jack Higgins and Will Cowin who joined us from the shadow scholar group who have been performing well under Fred Wright.”
