Sam Tillen was pleased with a positive result for his U18s against Notts County on Saturday as the young Imps made it back-to-back victories.
The Imps followed up their impressive high-scoring victory over Huddersfield with another positive result, running out 4-0 winners against County on Saturday.
Head coach Tillen was pleased with the result, particularly with the performance in the final stages of the match, where City managed to wrap up the game.
He said: “The result was positive. We set ourselves some objectives for the game and a win and clean sheet were top of the list.
“We ended up finishing the game like we would have hoped to have started, strongly, with good intensity and creating numerous chances. We could have scored more in the last twenty minutes or so which shows a good physical capacity.”
Praising the young players' contributions, Tillen highlighted Jack Higgins as he scored his first goal for the U18s and the impact of U16 player, Dan Vanderpuye, who also got on the scoresheet for the Imps
“Jack Higgins capped an impressive individual performance with his first goal of the under 18s and one of our four under 16 starters, Dan Vanderpuye also scored which was very pleasing.
