U18 midfielder Denny Oliver has called for his side to get back to basics and increase their intensity ahead of next week’s clash with Grimsby Town.
Oliver was on the scoresheet from the penalty spot as the young Imps lost 3-1 to Bradford City on Friday afternoon, and the midfielder is eager for the side to kick on.
He said: “I think we could have built on our second half start. We got ourselves an early goal and there was a shift in momentum for 20 minutes, and then we should’ve taken some of the chances we created but the goal at the end just killed it.
“It’s always disappointing to lose, especially when we’ve won our last four matches at home, but I felt we managed to get ourselves back into the match - it just wasn’t meant to be.
“It’s important we get back to some of the basics in terms of intensity and level of commitment. We also need to try and get rid of those small errors we’ve been making but we can put that right next week.”
