Sam Tillen was pleased with the response from his U18 side who beat Burton Albion 3-2 on Tuesday afternoon.
Carter Ford, Bailey Adamson and Louis Nesbitt were all on target for the young Imps who bounced back to winning ways after defeat to Mansfield Town last week.
Tillen said: “It was a great response from the players after the defeat on Saturday.
“We focused a great deal on reactions to adversity in the game and how to deal with conceding goals. Therefore it was very pleasing to see us win a game in which we went 1-0 down in.”
“I thought overall we were the better team and as the game progressed we got stronger and after going 3-1 up, created some fantastic opportunities to finish the game off.”
Tillen was also full of praise for MJ Kamara who showed great leadership qualities to help his team-mates over the line after conceding late on.
He added: “Unfortunately we conceded with 10 minutes to go but we saw the remainder of the game out and picked up a much deserved three points.
“It was great to have MJ Kamara available and his presence, leadership and performance were exemplary.
“I was also delighted for Carter Ford, who grabbed his first goal after his long term injury - it was a fitting reward for his performance.”
