City U18 defender Kelly Fombad was pleased with the side's dominant performance against Hartlepool United U18.
The young Imps ran out 5-0 winners at the Barrett Steel Stadium, with Fombad grabbing the third with a well- executed finish from the edge of the area.
He said: “It was a fantastic win for the whole team and we did well to pick up the five goals and the win.
“I’m pleased to have scored. I saw the cross coming through the box and in those situations when you’re running onto the ball, you have to remain level-headed and just keep your head down when you strike.
The full-back was full of praise for the defensive unit as well as head coach Sam Tillen who he has enjoyed working under.
He added: “I think the communication in the backline was fantastic from all the lads and that helped us secure the clean sheet.
“Sam Tillen drives the standards of the whole team. Everyone has been putting 100% into training and I think that shown with our performance today.”
