Charlie Parks was pleased to have starred in City’s dominant win against Walsall U18 on Monday evening.
The young Imps defeated the Saddlers 5-0 in the second round of the FA Youth Cup and Parks enjoyed the experience of picking up a win under the lights at the LNER Stadium.
He said: “I thought the team did very well. The work rate from everyone was good and I thought we worked very well together as a unit.
“It was a great experience for me, I've only played here once before at the academy and to play in front of this crowd was very special.”
The Imps will now face either Bradford or Barnsley in the third round of a competition the centre-half enjoys the pressure of playing in.
Parks added: “It's a lot of pressure, but its good pressure if you can raise your standards. It’s a special competition to play in and something you look forward to because it’s the big event of the year.
“Either game will be tough especially because it will be away from home. They are difficult places to go but we’re looking forward to it.”
