City’s Academy have received £1,750 from Ruth Gibbons who donated the money from her late son's charity Adam Gibbons Sport Foundation.
Adam Gibbons was an avid sports fan from Lincoln who sadly passed away while at university, and had a charity set up in his memory by family to help support sport’s participation.
The money donated from the charity will go towards a hardship fund for the boys and girls Academy players and be used for players requiring financial assistance while attending the Academy or any of its extra-curricular activities.
Jon Pepper, head of Academy, said: “We are very grateful to have received this sum of money and are pleased to be using it to help some of our academy players.
“Everyone at the Academy would like to send our thanks to Ruth and the rest of the people at the charity for their kind donation.”
