Ash Foyle is hoping for his side to bounce back to winning ways in this weekend’s upcoming fixture against Harrogate Town.
City U18 fell to a 3-0 defeat to the Yorkshire side on Saturday but Foyle was pleased by the way his side didn’t let their heads drop in what proved to be a challenging encounter.
He said: “There were some really pleasing individual performances from the younger players, but also a fantastic attitude shown by the more senior players to try and look after them and lead by example.
“Hopefully we can have another good go next Saturday in the return fixture.”
The Imps were forced to field a younger starting eleven in Saturday’s fixture against Harrogate, and Foyle has credited the determination shown from them against a strong outfit.
He added: “Harrogate are a very experienced team with a lot of powerful players. We were also very stretched, with only four scholars starting the game as well as three U15 and two shadow scholars.
“I was disappointed for the lads as they had a real good go and battled hard to stay competitive in a really physical game where we were mismatched in terms of age and physical stature.”
