Ash Foyle feels the players in his U18 side are progressing nicely after Saturday’s 4-2 win over Huddersfield Town stretched their winning run to three games.
Two goals from Julian Donnery, along with strikes from Tayo Tucker and Harry Dale, sealed three points for Foyle’s side.
He said: "We have put in some good performances and are starting to put a run of positive results together, although as a staff we are not too concerned with the results but more focused on the individuals in the group showing progress.
"They certainly are doing and, more importantly, we had the most outstanding players on the pitch with some really exciting displays of talent within our squad.
"We yet again created some outstanding opportunities with the only disappointment being that we didn’t make more of them and take the game completely away from the opposition."
The young Imps played on the LNER Stadium pitch, and Foyle was pleased with how they coped with the pressure that comes with a larger crowd and increased scrutiny.
He added: "I thought it was an excellent game for our players to be involved in. It can almost become an ‘occasion’ when playing on the first team pitch but we spoke about ensuring it was a really uncomfortable afternoon for Huddersfield which it turned out to be regardless of the talent they clearly had."
