Lee Mitchell was pleased with the drive that City displayed as they drew 2-2 with Sheffield at the MEPS International Home of Football Stadium.
Goals from Katie Williams and Toni McHamilton put the Imps two ahead before the break, but quick-fire strikes from Stacey Buxton and Tilly Hallas-Potts meant the points were shared.
Mitchell said: “We were the side trying to get the third and wanted the third more. Our heads didn’t go and they could’ve easily gone.
“The way we responded at 2-2 - there’s a lot of positives to take away from that and the girls were relentless with what they did after that.
“They were hungry to get that third, that hunger and drive is still there and everyone was working towards the same cause so that’s a good thing.”
Mitchell was also happy to see Katie Williams score her first goal of the season, with the midfielder striking the ball through a crowd of bodies to put City ahead.
He added: “Katie got herself in a good position and she took it well through the crowd.
“She kept it low and hard, and she deserved that goal because she works relentlessly in that midfield.”
