City head coach Michael Skubala praised his side for a battling display in their 0-0 draw at Bradford City on Tuesday night.

In an even contest that ebbed and flowed throughout, neither team was able to break the deadlock and Skubala was pleased to leave the University of Bradford Stadium with a hard earned point.

He said: “I think it was a great performance from us and a really good point. We know that this a tough place to come and get a result.

“In a way we’re a little disappointed that it wasn’t all three because we had a couple of big chances to take the lead. Having said that, I think a point was a fair result.

“We had to soak up a bit of pressure in the last 15 minutes, but in the first half we were great again.”

The Bantams went into the game with five home wins from six matches in the league, but it was City who started the brighter of the two sides before withstanding some late pressure from the hosts to earn a share of the spoils.

Skubala added: “We were good and there were some really big performances. Justin Obikwu, on his first league start for us ,was electric and George Wickens made some important saves.

“We created big chances ourselves in the first half and we maybe need to work on taking them. I’m really pleased with our first 45, they had to change their shape and bring big Andy Cook on, they went a little direct which caused us some problems.

“Overall, with how well they have done here this season, I think we can leave happy with a point.”

He said: "They've been rolling teams over here and put in a number of impressive performances, so we knew it was going to be a big test, but I thought we stood up to it well.

"You have to be alert in games like this and when I was called upon, I'm happy to have been able to play my part in keeping a clean sheet.

"We spoke about the importance of bouncing back from Saturday's game and we did that. I think we showed why we are where we are."
