Michael Skubala is looking forward to returning to action under the LNER Stadium floodlights for the visit of Shrewsbury Town on Tuesday night.
Skubala knows the importance of a big atmosphere but has emphasised that his team need to give the supporters something to shout about against Paul Hurst's side.
He said: "I am really excited. It's a really special place when the lights are on and hopefully we can put in a performance. I know the lads love playing at home in front of a big noisy crowd.
"It's brilliant the lads have done well in the last few games to give the supporters something to get behind. It is a bit of a cliche but if we try to perform in every game, then we will see where we're at after that.
The Imps are currently eight unbeaten following a victory at Vale Park but Skubala understands the threats Shrewsbury will pose, especially after their impressive away win at Reading last time out.
He added: "They look like a well organised team who play in a certain way which makes it tough for teams to play against.
"We know it's going to be a hard-fought game and know they have got ability in both boxes from set pieces, and Chey Dunkley is a real handful for any player at this level.
"We have got to stop all their threats and got to be really confident and take the game to them when we've got the ball."
