City steward Krystelle Chapman brings soft toys to matchdays to provide comfort and reassurance to some children and young adults.
Krystelle, who has been part of the Imps’ stewarding team for two seasons, became part of the club’s Here To Help team last summer.
She is located by the family gate in order for children and young adults to see the toys and get them as soon as they come into the gate.
She said: "It has been a few weeks since we started, and the idea has taken off better than we could have hoped for."
She currently has four soft toys with her, named: Pen the Penguin, Rocket the Raccoon, Bernie the St Bernard and Bear.
She added: "We have seen first-hand smiles on people’s faces when they come in. Rocket the Racoon has his own young person he goes to at every match, and she absolutely adores him.
"Bernie the St. Bernard goes to a young lad who only communicates through his smiles. His dad got a photo at the last match of his son smiling."
City are supporting Level Playing Field’s United For Access campaign this weekend, and will be wearing warm-up t-shirts as well as highlighting activities carried out to ensure games at the LNER Stadium are accessible for all.
