Everyone at City is saddened by the loss of club president John Jennison who has passed away at the age of 87.

John was born on Brant Road in 1935, but lived in Pickering for more than 70 years and was a lifelong supporter of the Imps. He was appointed club president – a role he held across four decades - by former chairman John Reames in the 1990s

He was a regular at games after first being taken by his dad, continuing the family tradition as he travelled to home and away fixtures with his son Charles.

He was so passionate about the club he even named his house Sincil Bank in tribute to the Imps’ own home.

His family continue his legacy, with his son Charles a regular at games and remaining a commercial partner.

A big sports fan, John and his wife were captains at Kirkbymoorside Golf Club, and he was president of Pickering Town FC after a long playing career. He was also instrumental in the formation of junior football leagues in the local area and a keen follower of Yorkshire County Cricket Club.

John played a huge part in the purchase of Sincil Bank back from Lincoln City Council in 2000 and also assisted in helping the club recover from administration in 2002.
