Mark Kennedy is happy with the way his side took their chances in City’s pre-season victory at Boston United.
The Imps battled through stormy conditions at the end of the first half to secure a convincing 7-0 win at the Jakemans Community Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
He said: “Sometimes it all comes together. I have to stress that it was a great exercise from a fitness point of view. I thought the scoreline was really unfair to the opposition who worked really hard, but they caught us on a very good day.
“I am really pleased with some patterns of play that came out but physically it was a really good test for us.”
Kennedy was pleased that most of his squad were able to get minutes against the National League North side but remained focused on instilling a winning mentality into his players.
He added: “At this stage it's all about fitness, minutes in the legs and being free from injury. As professionals and elite players, you want to win at all costs.
“On Tuesday at King’s Lynn I said it was all about fitness but it is starting to turn towards winning games now.”
