While the Imps finished their season last month, over in the Republic of Ireland the Drogheda United loan duo of Sam Long and Sean Roughan have been in the thick of a busy fixture schedule.

Sam has gained many plaudits for his displays throughout May, having played every minute of their five matches throughout the month.

After a slow start to the month for the Drogs, with back-to-back losses, he was a huge part of their turnaround in form which saw them win two games and draw one. That run included a standout clean sheet in an impressive victory against the run-away league leaders, Shamrock Rovers.

As for Sean Roughan, having been extremely unfortunate to pick up a red card in the win against Finn Harps earlier in the month, the versatile defender was ruled out of the victory against Shamrock Rovers. Despite that, Sean has been another reliable figure at the heart of the Drogs defence, playing every minute of the remaining three games and continuing to earn praise for his performances.

Elsewhere, in the EFL, Theo Archibald’s loan at Leyton Orient came to an end with the O’s on the wrong side of a narrow 1-0 defeat at home to Tranmere on the final game of the Sky Bet League Two season.

The Scotsman had an impressive season at the East London club. Over the course of the campaign Theo managed 42 appearances in all competitions, registering eight goals and nine assists in an impressive return.

In the National League South, Charley Kendall and Eastbourne Borough were still in action as they rounded off their league campaign and readied themselves for the play-offs. In league action, Charley started against Tonbridge Angels and Dartford in which Eastbourne fell to two defeats, but he was able to register another goal on the scoresheet. If you haven’t seen his goal, it’s worth a watch!

After making the play-offs, Eastbourne’s promotion aspirations came to an end in a play-off eliminator against Oxford City as they lost 2-0.

Despite the result, it has been a fantastic season for the Imps front man who netted 28 times and contributed two assists over the course of his 36 appearances.
