The long-lasting partnership between Lincoln City Football Club and the University of Lincoln has reached new heights.
Commencing with the Burton Albion fixture at LNER Stadium this Saturday, the University will become the front-of-shirt sponsor on the home kit for the next five games.
Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lincoln, Professor Neal Juster, said: “I’m proud of the University’s association with Lincoln City Football Club and we’re committed to seeing it flourish even more in the years to come. Both organisations are important influences within the region and there is a shared sense of responsibility to our community.
“The University represented on the club’s shirt signifies just how successful our partnership continues to be. Not only does the club benefit from the University’s expertise and facilities, but our students are also afforded amazing opportunities to gain experience in a professional sports environment, many of whom have gone on to work for the club itself after graduating.”
Andrew Whitham, director of commercial affairs at the Imps, added: "We have a long-standing relationship with the University and over recent years we have seen great progression for both organisations.
“To see the University branding back on the front-of-shirt is a reflection of the progression made by both parties.”
There are limited retail opportunities for students and supporters to buy the University-branded kit due to a restricted number being made. These shirts can be purchased in the University’s Sports Centre and the club’s Waterside store.
