Lincoln City Women have secured four new signings as excitement builds ahead of the 2022/23 season which opens at the LNER Stadium on Sunday August 21.

After a strong finish to last season which saw the women’s team end the season on a 10 game unbeaten run, we head into the new season with the vast majority of last season’s squad still retained.

Head coach Lee Mitchell is delighted to welcome four new signings to strengthen his squad ahead of the 22/23 campaign. Here is what Lee had to say about the new recruits:

Eden Pederson

Squad number 3

Making her return to Lincoln after a few seasons away, Eden brings vast experience for someone still so young. Starting off at Leeds United's Regional Talent Centre. Eden has vast experience within the National League with a promotion under her belt at Hull City. A strong defensive player with great passing ability, she brings defensive and in possession qualities that will make her invaluable for the upcoming season.

Eden said: “I am excited to be back and playing in the National League. I have been impressed with the club on and off the pitch and I am more than excited for the season with this group.”

Millie Fugler

Squad number 5

Millie started her football Journey in Regional Talent Centres at Nottingham Forrest and Leicester City, before playing at Birmingham City and then moving back to Nottingham Forrest. She comes to Lincoln from a successful few years at Long Eaton. Having played against Millie we knew what qualities she would bring to the team. A fantastic defender, natural leader, and competitor with a physical presence on the pitch. She has fit seamlessly into the team bringing with her experience and tactical awareness which has made her transition to the team easy.

Millie said: “I am buzzing to join Lincoln, exciting times ahead with a growing club! I can’t wait to get the season started and show what we can do as a group on the pitch”

Lucy Farrow

Squad number  16

Lucy is a local player who has played for the clubs around the area, most recently at Lincoln United alongside representing the RAF. A direct and tenacious attacker who has come into the squad and already made her mark. Lucy isn’t afraid of a challenge, so we are looking forward to seeing how she progresses this upcoming season. Speed, strength and an unbelievable fitness level she is an exciting signing to add to an already high scoring forward line.

Lucy:  “I am feeling ready and motivated to push myself and develop this season! I want to see how far the team and myself can go”

Abi Ringrose

Squad number – 19

Starting at Lincoln City Centre of Excellence before moving to Leicester City up until the age of 16. Abi is a local player who has played around the region for the past few seasons too. Abi has recently impressed on trial and fitted in instantly. Technical ability and vision for a pass, she brings composure on the pitch with the flexibility to play in a variety of positions. Proving to be a hidden gem she can more than handle stepping up this season.

Abi said: “I am excited for this season and getting back to enjoying playing again. I am keen to improve as a player and I am looking forward to seeing where we can take things as a team”
