Tom Hopper is looking forward to facing Premier League Champions, Liverpool in Carabao Cup action tomorrow night.

The Imps welcome Jurgen Klopp's side to LNER Stadium following a impressive 5-0 win over Bradford City in the Carabao Cup second round.

City striker Tom Hopper discussed the build-up and preparation the Imps have put in for tomorrow's game: “We are really looking forward to it, we have tried to keep it on the downlow in the build-up because we had league games before that.

"We were aware of it but not making too much of it.

“It’s now the next game so we will enjoy it and work hard in the preparation for it. We are aware what we are coming up against, it is the same as any other game.

“We have kept our preparation the same to how we would deal and prepare for any other game. We will work hard in the build-up to get us into the best position possible."

Tom went on to speak about Liverpool as a side and what he expects from them: “They have incredible talent and there’s history at their club, so we are well aware of the challenge, but we are looking forward to it.

"Everyone has a weakness somewhere, we just have to find it."

The Imps have had an impressive start to the season winning their opening two Sky Bet League One games, as well as picking up two Carabao Cup victories.

Hopper discussed the atmopshere around the squad at the moment saying: “We have a strong squad, it’s a case of if you are out, we have someone there who can step in and do a good job.

"We are in a great position, we have healthy competition, if you’re on the pitch you want to play well to keep the shirt.

“I think we have a good buzz about the place because of the way we have started, we are really close as a group and we are enjoying our football. We want to keep improving and that is how we will continue."

Tom finished by speaking about having no fans at LNER Stadium: “We know our home ground better than any other team, it is such a shame we won’t have fans here at LNER Stadium but it is something they can watch from a distance with the game being on Sky.

“I know it wouldn’t be a quiet night if they were here so they will be missed, but we want to give them a performance to cheer for from home."
