Michael Appleton’s side face Ipswich Town in Sky Bet League One at LNER Stadium on Saturday, Imps supporters can watch all the action LIVE on WeAreImps iFollow.

City go into the game having beat Plymouth Argyle 2-0 at LNER Stadium earlier in the week with goals from Jorge Grant and Brennan Johnson.

Grant took his tally to five for the season on what was his 50th appearance as an Imp with Brennan also hitting a landmark scoring his first professional goal.

Michael Appleton praised Johnson ahead of Saturday's game explaining how his style of football brings a different option to the squad.

“Brennan hasn’t surprised me; I have known him for a while, I was with his dad at United, so I have always been aware of him."

“I knew he was a talent and would give us something different, the signs in the first few games are promising. He is very direct and likes to get at people, if he isn’t scoring goals, he gives us something different and can provide assists.”

The Imps boss continued by speaking about the day to day life at the Soper of Lincoln Elite Performance Centre: “There is a great atmosphere around the football club.

"We have a great group and we have a vibrant feel at the training ground, we are excited for the future, this is a work in progress, and we will continue to work hard to hit our targets.”

Michael finished by turning his attention to Saturday’s opponents, Ipswich Town. The City boss explained how he expects a tough game against Paul Lambert’s side at LNER Stadium.

“I have to be mindful that certain opposition will bring certain problems, we will pick a team which is ready physically and tactically to win the game, they will be a tough opponent for us.

“They probably expected to go up last year, they have strength in depth and there will be a lot of managers who will be envious of what Paul (Lambert) has to choose from.

“They have made a few small changes to their approach and we will hopefully make sure that isn’t too much of an issue tomorrow.”
