Former Lincoln City forward Gary Taylor-Fletcher announced his retirement from playing football this morning.
Taylor-Fletcher starred for the Imps between 2003 and 2005, playing his final game for City in the 2-0 play-off final defeat to Southend United.
The Imps signed then-named Gary Fletcher from Leyton Orient at the beginning of Keith Alexander's second season in charge in his second spell after a heroic play-off campaign.
Taylor-Fletcher and Keith Alexander's paths had originally crossed while at Northwich Victoria, with Keith managing Gary in the 2000/01 season.
'Fletch', whose named changed to Gary Taylor-Fletcher following marriage in 2004, scored 19 times in his maiden campaign at the Bank, scoring some fantasic solo efforts throughout his spell. Taylor-Fletcher was also voted as Player of the Season at the end of his first season as an Imp.
The Widnes-born attacker added 12 more to his Lincoln City total the following season, equalling a 106-year old Imps record by scoring in each of the opening six league games, and also scored an audacious lob in the Lincolnshire Derby against Scunthorpe United live on Sky Sports to secure a 2-0 victory.
In a side with the likes of Gareth McAuley, Jamie McCombe and Richard Butcher, GTF left the Imps in the summer of 2005 for Huddersfield Town, having made 93 appearances in all competitions and scoring 31 times.
Taylor-Fletcher had a six-year stay at Blackpool from 2007, and was pivotal in the Tangerines' rise to the Premier League, playing against some of world football's elite stars.
Following his departure from the Seasiders, Fletch joined Leicester City and also had loan spells with Millwall and Sheffield Wednesday. He also had short spells with Tranmere Rovers and Accrington Stanley.
More recently, GTF has had spells with Llandudno and Bangor City as player-manager, but is currently Technical Director at Creation Sports Management.
In a social media statement, Taylor-Fletcher said: "I have had some fantastic memories along the journey, from being a 17-year-old at Northwich, to playing in the Prem for Blackpool at 29.
"It has been the best trip, but now onto the next stage and whatever the future will bring."
