Lincoln City’s Head of Youth Damian Froggatt is to stand down from his position at the end of this season, moving into a new role within Lincoln City Football Club.
Damian steps down after helping steer the Academy through a particularly turbulent period which culminated in successfully securing its Premier League funding following the club’s promotion back into the Football League in 2017.
During Damian’s time as Academy Manager he has also seen the likes of Ellis Chapman make the step up from the Academy into the first team squad.
Commenting on the move, he said: “I’m naturally sad to be leaving the academy, however, there is a new opportunity within the business side of Lincoln City which excites me and I feel now is the right time for a new challenge at what is the most exciting time in the club’s history.
“Having more recently managed the Academy through a period of rapid change, the solid foundations which have been established mean that I can hand over the Academy with absolute confidence for its future as it continues to develop as an emerging business whilst retaining huge ambition for further growth.
“I will always remain immensely proud and respectful of the selfless contributions made by so many people during my tenure as Academy Manager, including the many staff who contributed so significantly to the Academy’s survival and successes during what were often hugely challenging times.
“However, this new role brings exciting opportunities in the enterprise sector of the football club and I’m looking forward to playing a part in developing these new ventures and partnerships.”
