This weekend, Lincoln City’s DS Active team will be in action as they welcome their counterparts from Northampton Town’s PAN Disability Team to Sincil Bank in what promises to be a fun packed day for all involved.
It’s been an exciting few weeks for the Imps' team who recently took to the field at The Energy Check County Ground, Swindon, as they took on the DS Active team from Swindon Town at half time of the SkyBet League Two game between Swindon Town and Lincoln City. It was an experience that Mark Smith, Lincoln City Foundation’s Inclusion officer, said that everyone will remember.
“The trip to Swindon was absolutely fantastic. The guys had an amazing time playing against the Swindon DS Active team and to have the opportunity to head onto the pitch and half time and play a match representing Lincoln City was absolutely fantastic!
“The guys headed over to Swindon where they were took on a full stadium tour. After the tour, Clive and his team lead the group in some football training and mixed-friendly matches before a pizza lunch! After lunch we headed into the stadium to get our seats to watch the match, before heading onto the pitch at half time. Everyone at Swindon made us feel so welcome and were a real credit to the club. We would again love to thank Clive and his team for being so accommodating to our DS team and parents.”
On Saturday, the Lincoln City DS Active and the Northampton Town PAN Disability team will have a stadium tour at Sincil Bank before then taking to the 3G surface adjacent to the stadium to first train, then play multiple friendly games. Then after lunch they will take to the field and be flag bearers as the first team players of The Imps and The Cobblers enter the pitch ahead of the SkyBet League Two clash before then watching all the action.
Everyone at Lincoln City hopes all the players, friends and families have a fantastic day at Sincil Bank, we look forward to seeing you all on Saturday.
