Danny Cowley is looking forward to sampling his first Lincolnshire Derby at Sincil Bank this weekend in front of a sold out crowd.

There have been many memorable games against Grimsby Town over the years and after having a first taste of the derby in the draw at Blundell Park earlier this season. The Imps’ manager is anticipating another competitive game and he’s under no illusion how important the game is to fans of both teams.

“This is one of the first games both sets of supporters look for when the fixture list comes out in July. We have been lucky to be involved in a number of derby games so far this season and they have all created electric atmospheres. For the game to be played out in front of a full Sincil Bank is testament to the loyalty of both sets of supporters.” Cowley said.

As always no stone has been left unturned in the preparation and build up to the kick off at 1pm tomorrow and the Imps’ boss knows how much of an impact a positive outcome in the crunch clash can have.

“Both sets of supporters see this as the big derby so the are be a lot of bragging rights at stake.

“We understand how important this game is. We are really focused in performing at our very best on Saturday. I am not sure we will ever be able to repay our supporters for their unconditional support of us. However, we know that a win against our biggest rivals will go some way.”
