Sportsman's Dinner With Steve Hodge

5 January 2016

Sponsored by

Lincoln City Youth Academy is delighted to announce that Steve Hodge will be the guest speaker at their annual Sportsmans Dinner

Former Nottingham Forest, Aston Villa, Spurs, Leeds and England midfielder Steve - father of City player Elliot - will be speaking at the Dinner in the Travis Perkins Suite at Sincil Bank on the evening of Thursday 25 February 2016.

Tickets are priced at £45 with tables for 10 people at a discounted £400.  Tables and tickets can be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis by emailing roger.bates@lincolncityfc.co.uk. The dress code for gentleman guests is lounge suits or dinner jackets.

Steve played football with top quality teams for a remarkable 17 years.  He played under legendary managers such as Brian Clough, Howard Wilkinson, Sir Bobby Robson and Terry Venables.

Steve played in the tragic semi-final at Hillsborough in 1989 and whilst Diego Maradona achieved World Cup victory in 1986 with his ‘Hand of God’ goal, at least Steve gained some compensation from the match as he has Maradona’s shirt from that legendary game!

Steve has continued to be involved in the game as a qualified A licence coach at the Nottingham Forest Academy and as an FA ambassador as part of our World Cup bid.

Steve delivers recollections of his career recalling his great moments including fresh stories about Gazza, Clough, Cantona and of course how did he obtain Maradona’s ‘Hand of God’ shirt?

Joining Steve for the evening will be comedian Jamie Sutherland.

Liverpool has a history of producing some of the countries finest comedy talent and Jamie Sutherland can be added to that list.

A headline act on the comedy circuit, working for some of the countries finest clubs including Sheffield Last Laugh, Jongleurs, and Comedy Central. Jamie is also a corporate hospitality MC at Everton FC for all their home games.

A very original act, Jamie keeps his audiences amused with gags, tales, and stories. Jamie is a modern act, with many observational topics and up to date material; and don't worry if you prefer a good old-style gag, he has plenty of them thrown in, ensuring a performance that will touch everyone's buttons.

If you would like to share the top table with Steve Hodge by sponsoring the evening please email roger.bates@lincolncityfc.co.uk for further details.
