Lincoln City Youth Academy has nine teams from Under 9 through to the Under 17/18 Youth team and each has been asked to come up with a fundraising idea to support the Future Imps Fund.
A group of three Under 12s' parents and a player’s brother have decided to take to the skies to meet their challenge and to help other good causes along the way.
Four of them will be jumping from 15,000 feet on 11th April at Hibaldstow Airfield to raise funds for a local charity chosen by each of the jumpers and also for the Future Imps Fund. The jumpers are Andrew and Nathan Harrison, Warren Brown and Lincoln Christer and they will be raising funds for the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance, Lincoln Special Care Baby Unit and the Future Imps Fund and each jumper’s personal fundraising will be split 50/50 between their chosen charity and the Future Imps Fund.
Speaking about the Skydive, Youth Academy Director Roger Bates said: "We've had some great ideas from our players' parents to help the Future Imps Fund meet its target for this season. We have had supermarket bag packing and a Christmas raffle and will soon be holding a Bingo Night and Race Night. The Under 12s decided to do something a little more extreme by taking to the skies. I hope they have great day and raise important funds for all the good causes."
Andrew Harrison added: "Roger is correct, we wanted to do something a bit out of the ordinary. We all thought jumping from a plane from nearly three miles up seemed like a good idea at the time but we are all ready to do it to raise monies for our chosen charities and for the future imps fund. Anybody wanting to see if we live to tell the tale is welcome to hear our screams on the day."
If you would like to incentivise the guys to jump from 15,000 feet just seek them out if you know them and add your name to their sponsorship form. Alternatively, you can sponsor one of them by making a bank transfer to the 'Future Imps Fund' account using the sort code 08-90-32, the account number 68511706 and the reference 'Skydive' together with the jumper's surname.
