Frecklington and Robinson kick start new Academy Prize Fund...

Academy graduates Lee Frecklington and Conner Robinson have given their backing to a new Prize Fund - the latest in a string of initiatives which form part of the Youth Academy’s fundraising drive.

The Future Imps Fund 'Regular Payment Scheme' offers every single investor a chance to win one of many fantastic Lincoln City prizes. And, at the same time, everyone who joins the scheme can be assured that every penny contributed will play a vital part in helping secure the Youth Academy’s future.

Launching the Regular Payment Scheme, Youth Director Roger Bates explained why the Academy had decided on this approach.

"When we spoke to some of our sponsors they told us that writing large sponsorship cheques can be difficult in the current financial climate," he said. "However, many said they would be happy to support us if they could pay little and often.

"With tremendous support from the Football Club itself we’ve been able to provide a bundle of prizes which we hope will attract other local businesses, and perhaps some individuals and supporters, to add their backing to the Club’s Youth Academy and support the Future Imps Fund in this way."

And Frecklington - who joined the Academy when he was 12 years old and enjoyed 11 years with the Imps before moving to Peterborough in 2009 - was the first to sign his name to the Fund.

"I enjoyed every minute of my time at Lincoln City and I'm delighted to be able to give something back to the Academy which supported me as a youngster," he said.

"This is a community club at heart - everyone works so hard behind the scenes here because they care about the players and they care about the Club.

"I have pledged my support to the Academy and signed up to the Regular Payment Scheme because I still have many friends here and I know how important youth development is to a club like Lincoln."

The Regular Payment Scheme costs just £14.95 a week and you can sign up as a business, an individual, or as part of a syndicate of friends. Contributions will start in July, and every investor who has signed up by 31st August will be entered into a draw to win one of many prizes.
